Journey to the New Me!

I’ll be starting a new section to my Aging Beautifully category called Journey to the New Me! I will be your guniea pig! I am 43 and going through a divorce. The thought of being single again at this age has me looking at my body and wow- have I let myself go! Beyond the whole “looking good” thing, I haven’t been taking care of myself as I should, especially not if I expect this body to last another 40 or so years! And although the divorce will take care of eliminating a major stress in my life, I need to do what I can to help repair the damage I’ve already done to my body as well as prevent new unnecessary damage. Some things I will be focusing on:
Losing Weight – I started this back in January. I’ve been taking Phentermine as well as exercising. I started at 207 pounds on January 6 and as of April 1 – I’ve lost 26 pounds. I am staying under my doctors close watch on the Phentermine, but my blood pressure has actually been much better since January. I’ll report my monthly progress as well as my experience with Phentermine in a complete post. My goal weight is 130 by the end of June or July (probably July!)
Self-Esteem – It may come as no surprise to you, but you can’t stay in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship for 20 years without quite a bit of damage to your self esteem. I’ve been talking to myself a lot. Positive self-affirmations are amazingly good at helping to improve your self esteem and to help lead you to the place where you start to care about yourself again. I’ll share more details about the apps and affirmations I use that were most helpful to me.
Wrinkles – The first time I looked at myself in the mirror this year I thought – wow – I look old. But there are plenty of ways to help combat wrinkles and make them seem to disappear. I explore both the natural and chemical (no surgical) and will share my results with you.
“The Girls” – yes, time as well as nursing 4 babies has taken it’s toll on my breasts. I’ve never been very blessed in that department so I want to keep what little I’ve got in good shape and keep it away from my belly button! I’lll share my experiences and product recommendations with you on this one too. And possibly a few laughs.
Skin – beyond wrinkles there are crepe paper arms, cellulite, and more that happen over time. I found one awesome thing that is almost a miracle worker. And it’s not even a cosmetic!
Teeth – ways to make those pearly off-whites shine like they were meant to.
I’m keeping this section separate from my regular “Aging Beautifully” so you know what products I have actually tried personally and what kind of results that I’ve achieved. Although I’ve tried a lot of the tips in “Aging Beautifully” most of that information is gained through research. Here you get my first hand experiences!
